Chlorine will kill viruses in water. But chlorine can take up to 4 hours to kill crypto. The Berkey system stops crypto because crypto is bigger in size than viruses, but chlorine or UV light does nothing to take out sediment and chemical pollution the way a Bekery water system does. The Berkey system is good at cleaning up your city, well or rain water. In an emergency situation where you might get your water from virus contaminated sources, the Berkey system is a powerful tool in your safe water arsenal along with other tools.
