why shaneshop.net no longer carries the global sun international solar oven......

We called in an order for a sun oven from sun ovens international Inc (sunoven.com 39w835 midan drive, elburn Ilinois 60119) Along with the oven we ordered some baking pans they sell. Before I placed the order, I asked the employee of sun ovens international if the cooking pans were made in the USA. She said, yes they are. Since they were made in the USA, we went ahead and ordered the cook pans. When the oven and pans were delivered, we opened them to find that the pans are made in china and mexico. So here again, much like the woman who took our order at the meridian design company for the UV aquastar, we were told wrong, lied to and or misled. Take your pick. So, we decided that we did not get what was ordered and so we wanted a refund on the cook pans.

I called sun ovens international and said I wanted a refund because the pans were not what we were told they were. I was quickly handed over to a manager who refused to admit that they had told me wrong, and was very reluctant to offer a refund. She kept asking who i had talked to. I said that I did not know her name. I asked how many women answer phones there and she said there are 3 of us. She told me that all the other women were shaking their heads no (as if saying that they had not been the one that wrongly stated that the pans were made in the USA) She told me that if I could prove that one of the women there had told me the pans were made in the USA, then I might could get the refund without having to pay return shipping costs. After much denying and half ass accusing me of misunderstanding what I was told, she said that if I sent the pans back at my expense, I would get a refund. I told her that they should pay for shipping costs to return the pans since they were the ones that had told me wrong leading me into thinking that the pans were made in the USA.

The mistake was completely on the hands of the sun oven international people, but they refused to take responsibility for it and told me that I would have to prove to them that someone there had told me that the pans were made in the USA. I see no reason why I should have to pay return shipping to get a refund when we were the ones lied to or told wrong. It's a mistake of the sun oven people and therefore they should have to make it right at their expense.

The cost of return shipping may not be much money, but that is all the more reason why the sun oven people should stand good for their wrong doing to the fullest. They present themselves to be a world wide business that is helping poor people the world over, but then they won't spend eight bucks to make right a wrong that was their doing. What is that all about?

Here at shaneshop.net, we cannot do business with a company whose people are not fully on the level with the customer. It's not a matter of money, it's a matter of principle. We do not treat our customers this way and we do not let suppliers treat us this way.
